From data to a maintenance strategy

  1. Measure equipment performance with MTBF/MTTR analysis.
  2. Understand how critical parts fail with Weibull analysis, and how the system depends on them with a reliability block diagram.
  3. Decide the right maintenance for each failure mode with RCM.
  4. Embed it on the shop floor with TPM, and design reliability into new products with accelerated life testing.

Keeping equipment maintained

Reliability depends on maintenance that actually happens. Cloudtheapp keeps equipment profiles, calibration and maintenance schedules, instructions and approvals per asset in one validated system, with reminders before anything falls due.

Frequently asked questions

Which reliability tool should I start with?

For equipment in operation, start with MTBF/MTTR analysis of your breakdown log to find the problem assets. For a component that wears out, use Weibull analysis of its failure times. For a new design, model the system with a reliability block diagram and test components with accelerated life testing.

What is the difference between RCM and TPM?

RCM is an analysis method that decides the right maintenance task for each failure mode of an asset. TPM is a company-wide programme that involves operators and management in equipment care and improvement. They work well together: RCM decides what to do, TPM builds the organisation that does it.

What statistics do these tools use?

Weibull analysis uses median rank regression with Johnson's adjustment for suspensions or maximum likelihood. Accelerated life testing fits Arrhenius or inverse power law models by regression with a confidence interval, and plans zero-failure tests with the Lipson equality. The RBD uses series, parallel and k-out-of-n formulas.

Are these tools free?

Yes. Every tool is free, needs no account and keeps your data in your browser. Export to PDF, PNG or Excel, or save a file to continue later.
