The journey includes many steps and milestones, like investigation, solution design, verification and validation, design documentation, disposition, approval, notification, and implementation. ECO automatically triggers the Engineering Change Notice (ECN) process to notify internal and external stakeholders (like contract manufacturers and suppliers) before the change gets finally implemented and before the starting serial number gets tracked for the change.
